A separate car storage facility will be available in
Kanjurmarg on Lines 3 and 6. commissioner R A Rajeev of the Metropolitan Area
Development Authority (MMRDA) of Mumbai announced on the 12th of October in
Mumbai, adding that specific services will be popular, 1 bhk flat for rent in kharghar.
1 bhk flat on rent in kharghar, Although
112.5 acres (45 ha) will be utilized to construct lines 3, Line 6 will be
utilized to cover 45 acres Rajeev informed TOI. Line 6 is the longest route
(335 kilometers) and includes greater trains (31 with each train having eight
cars), Line 3 has more land. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL) is the
company that runs Line 3 of the Underground Metro route, is planning to build
Car sheds for Line 3 as well as MMRDA will build the depot for Line 6.
The different depots were proposed since the lines are
distinct sources of funding and MMRCL is fully informed of Line 3
specifications, Rajeev stated.
Rajeev declared the Metro 3 is scheduled to be operational
in 2022 or 2023. noting that the estimated cost of 400 crore, including the Rs
100 crore that was invested in Aarey which is the largest increase in cost.
"To join two routes for which the estimated investment to be around 100
crore and more for the depot, a km of the route has to be constructed. This is
significantly lower than the Rs 4000 crore, as calculated by the panel in the
event that the car shed moves to Kanjurmarg.
"The cost is not high because the total cost of the
Line 3 project has risen from Rs 23,000 crore to Rs 33,000-34,000 crore. In 2-3
months, we will float tenders for Line 6. MMRCL will float separate tenders for
the Line 3 depot," the official stated. The construction of Line 3's depot
Line 3 depot is expected to take longer to start because a complete report on
the project must be prepared by MMRCL.
In the meantime, Aarey activists at a press conference
demanded for Former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis provide evidence to prove
that the plot attributable the Lines 3, 6 and 7, car sheds in Kanjurmarg is
being challenged. The activist Zoru Bhathena said the suburban collector had
claimed that the plot was not disputed in a 2016 affidavit filed to the Bombay
High Court. "We have records that prove that the state government owns
it," Zoru Bhathena claimed.
The activist Priya Mishra said the tender that was released
to MMRCL estimated the cost of 340 crores on the 400 crores that was spent on
the construction of the car shed in Aarey which was subsequently wasted.
"I hope that the former CM can clear the allegations that Rs 400 crore was
expended on the depot," Mishra claimed.
The architect Nitin Killawala said that after the government
of Maha Vikas Aghadi decided to relocate Metro car storage on Line 3 to
Kanjurmarg and to join Lines 3 with Line 6 to create an ideal route to merge
lines.
He suggested that the combined lines should run along with SevenHills Hospital, Saki Vihar, Chandivli, Hiranandani Hospital, and then
underground at Radisson Junction, then to the depot in Kanjurmarg instead
of following the Powai Lake promenade. A high level of ridership is guaranteed
He added.
